Today’s Math Lesson: Free Stuff + Drama Teachers = Happy Drama Teachers!

Freecycle.org looks to be a great resource for all those odds and ends that drama teachers are always hunting down. From their site:

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,871 groups with 6,860,000 members across the globe. It’s a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them’s good people). Membership is free.

No, you’re probably not going to find that elusive Little Shop of Horrors plant puppet, but a quick search of our area turned up a cream leather loveseat, some boxes of scifi books, some ladies coats and scarves, a high chair, and a box of Christmas bows. Oh, and a Size 3 Tae Kwan Do Tunic (hey, you never know!). Totally free!

Know of any other great cheap or free sources for props and set pieces? Leave a note below!

Tipping my hat to Theater Tawk, Like Cawfee Tawk for this awesome idea!
