An interesting coda to my previous post on Power Play. I was in Alabama at the end of February doing workshops at the Alabama State Thespian Festival. I met a teacher who had done the play, and got in trouble for it and stood very firmly on her two feet, fought with the principal and won. She felt that strongly about it. She knew she would get in trouble and it didn’t stop her.
I met almost the whole cast from the show. They were extremely sweet and they loved the play - which of course made me so proud. Made me feel like I’m doing something a little bit right in my little world.
And then the next weekend I found out that a school in Virginia took the play to their state festival!
