Another year comes to a close! It went by so fast and so many things have happened. Theatrefolk has a new home, and a lot of new projects in the works. We're extremely excited about what's to come. So much so, that instead of devoting this newsletter to the 'best of' the past year, it's the 'best of' what's to come!

Here's a taste of two programs we have surrounding Theatrefolk's first musical SHOUT!, to be published in 2008. We'll be announcing these officially in the August newsletter, but we wanted to whet your appetite in the meantime!
Composer Kristin Gauthier and I are looking for interested schools, singing groups, and students who love musical theatre, to test out some of the songs for SHOUT! This musical is different in that it is performed entirely a cappella. It's going to be great for schools without orchestras, great for schools that don't want to sing to a track, and a great challenge for all levels of singers.
If you're interested or you know someone who is interested, get in touch with me we'll set something up for the Fall. If you're close by, we'll come to your school in person to talk to the students personally about their experience. If you're a bit farther away, we'd just ask that you record the song and send it to us. We can hash the details out later.
We're really interested in teacher and student feedback at this stage in the process. We'll be writing all summer and need to hear how we're doing so we can put out the best product possible.

Theatrefolk is going multi-media! Haven't you always wanted your favourite Shakespeare quote as your ring tone? Are you in a Theatrefolk play and want a quote to play when your fellow castmates call? Check out www.literaryringtones.com at the end of June for the launch of this product.
We're so proud to welcome Mrs. Evelyn Merritt, a retired schoolteacher, to the Theatrefolk family. Her very first book, Mrs. Merritt's Big Book of Holiday Skits is written especially for elementary/primary schools and is bursting with plays, scenes, skits, sketches and poems for holidays in every month of the year. Visit www.mrsmerritt.com for details.
Here's our upcoming conference schedule. If you're attending, please drop by and say hi!
Over the next year, expect newsletter topics include Monologues (we have a new book coming out this fall), Improv (how do you start an improv team in your school?) and of course author interviews as new plays are published.
Future issues will be guided by your suggestions. Email stories, tips, suggestions, and questions to us by visiting:http://www.theatrefolk.com/contact. This newsletter belongs to you!
Some of our playwrights post to theTheatrefolk Blog. Check it out for insights into what's happening with Theatrefolk.
