Lots of good advice about materials to use, construction techniques, and design considerations.

Though, I know a few high school and middle school teachers who will be tearing up with laughter at this one:

If the set can be built before the first practice, that is best. It should be ready no later than two weeks before the first performance.

Two weeks? Ah, to live in such a perfect world!
