I had the pleasure of seeing Bruce Springsteen perform last week.
The show was high-energy, fast-paced, filled with life, and it was three hours long. Three hours of supercharged rock and roll. And Bruce is 63 years old. A 63-year-old man whipped an arena into a frenzy for three solid hours.
Whether you’re a fan of his music or not, there’s no denying that the guy gives his all in concert, that nothing is held back.
Seeing a show like this is a real kick in the pants. It’s inspiring. It’s triggers an attitude reset in me. Sometimes I don’t “feel like” doing a show on a particular evening. Sometimes I hold back on energy because I’m tired, or annoyed by the candy wrapper, or it’s a two show day, or [insert irrelevant excuse here]. That’s not good. Everything should be at opening night level every time. And every show should have a sax player.
What have you seen that made you want to be a harder-working artist?
