This weekend we made a two-part visit to Florida, the sunshine state. Winter is starting to creep in at home so the warm weather was very much appreciated.
First off we visited Lakewood Ranch High School, which is premiering Lindsay’s newest play Somewhere, Nowhere.
Lindsay did a Q&A with the cast and they had some very insightful questions about their characters’ journeys through the play.
We got to hear a read-through of the play.
It’s the first time Lindsay’s heard the script read aloud and she took copious notes.
The cast read the script beautifully, and they clearly are attached to the characters already. A great sign.
We’ll be coming back in December to see the play’s first production.
Next, we headed a little bit north to Tampa for the FATE (Floridia Association of Theatre Educators) conference.
A full house for one of Lindsay’s workshops.
This is our seventh year coming to FATE and it’s like old home week for us. It’s great to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. Can’t wait to come back!
Thank you so much for giving our high school the oppurtuinty to workshop your new play “Somewhere Nowhere”. I love it and it has been an amazing experience so far. I portray the character of Jane Rose and I just love how awkward she is. Great job and thanks again,
Jillian
