Gearing up for Sears

The Sears Drama Festival is an Ontario One Act play festival. Schools perform in their region, winners move on to their district (or it could be district and then region, I can never remember) and then winners of that move on to the All Ontario Festival. I’ve been very lucky to have a growing number of plays in region and district festivals and last year made it all the way to All Ontarios with Tick Talk.

February is the time of year when the district (or region…) festivals get going. Lots of productions this year which is great! I’m going to see a production of The Bright Blue Mailbox Suicide Note tomorrow night, and I was at a different school yesterday to do a workshop with another production of Bright Blue going up next week.

I can’t wait to see the show tomorrow. I’ve been in email contact with a student involved with the show and it will be interesting to see how the production looks on its feet.

Of course it’s my absolute dream to go to an All Ontario festival and every play is a Theatrefolk play. Ah I can dream can’t I?
