Saturday Night Live did a sketch this week about a meeting where performers brainstorm ideas on how to save Broadway.
It’s not bad, but like most SNL sketches, it just wanders aimlessly without much of an ending. And like most discussions about saving Broadway, it doesn’t come up with any good answers.
What we have to remember is that, sure, times are tough. A lot of Broadway shows have closed. I’m sure more will close in the weeks to come. But Broadway ain’t going anywhere, folks. As long as there are writers and performers and an audience, Broadway will find a way.
