Earlier this month I attended the Alabama State Thespian Festival. It’s one of my favourites. It’s always a blast! I taught three different workshops:

Fresh Cement, the basics of writing your first play.

and First Draft Foothills, moving beyond the first draft of a play.
I also met a ton of students who were using monologues and scenes from my scripts for Individual Event Competition.

Tori and Meg performed a scene from Body Body and Sarah performed a scene from Agatha Rex. I also learned that last year Sarah and Meg earned a superior ranking at State with a scene from Wait Wait Bo Bait.

This is Sarah and her partner Courtney. They showed me the scene before they competed.

Jordon was 2nd in the State with his monologue from Jealousy Jane.

And Cole did very well with the Harry monologue from This Phone Will Explode at the Tone.
Finally I got to meet almost the whole troupe from McAdory High School.

We posed both serious….

And silly.
One of my favourite parts of going to conferences is meeting the teachers and students who perform my work. It was great to meet all of you!!!
