Teaching Drama

Remembering Bing

babushka

I recently came across this post by a blogger called Babushka, in which she reminisces of her days treading the boards in school.

It suddenly struck me that it’s been years since I performed on stage. Years since I stood under those blinding lights, years since I communicated to an audience who sat in the blackness, years since I participated in theatre.

Clearly she didn’t go on to become an actress, but the impact that theatre had on her was instrumental in her development.

Particularly interesting is the combination of fondness and detest with which she remembers “Bing,” her teacher.
