I love Ted Talks. They are always just long enough, and short enough to engage my interest on a myriad of topics. Here’s one that as we race forward into the 21st century should be on our radar as artists and artist educators: the relationship between technology and the arts with Gwydion Suilebhan.
I know not everyone agrees that technology has anything to do, or should have anything to do with the arts. Some believe technology takes away from true art. What I know is that Theatrefolk would not be able to exist without it. Technology has made production easier and more efficient, has allowed us to reach customers we never would have reached, and provide products that just aren’t as viable in hard copy form. My art would not have been able to translate into a career without technology.
What are your thoughts on the relationship between technology and the arts? Help or hindrance?
