This is a checklist for planning a partner scene (planned and rehearsed, but built using improvisation). Students were already familiar with relationship, setting, objective / tactics.

This builds off the previous checklist I posted. Now that they've planned their scene, they can now practice running through it with a rehearsal checklist.

In this scene assignment, 2 actors are working with 1 director in groups of 3. Actors are working on adding level changes to each page in their script. Before this rehearsal, they played the warm up game where no one can be at the same level at the same time (if someone stands, the person already standing has to come up with a reason to sit / lay down, etc.)

A worksheet to help students organize their thoughts for giving feedback on performances

This is a sample of a Standards Based Grading style scale. This is not a true Marzano scale based on the most current information. This is what I am using based on the levels that my school had adopted. True Marzano Scales would have a 0, .5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4. The .5s would be if they are partially in the higher and partially in the lower.

Here is the series of 6 lessons I created for my scenic design unit. My students have no prior experience with scenic design. You can use whatever play is appropriate for your group, but I tend to use very short ones since I want to be able to focus more of the time on the design process rather than reading a longer play.

Lesson 6 of 6. This gets extended over several class periods until the projects are finished.

Here is a basic introduction to this very rigorous actor training method. There are a lot of resources out there on this method, and I have pulled from those, as well as years of my own training in college. I am not an expert, but am happy to share this presentation.

This is the grading rubric I use for all performances in my Acting classes, all levels. It was specifically design for Scene Study and Monologue work.

Here is my Strike list. I assign people to each group. Some of the items are show specific but you will get the basic idea.

Here is a sample of my class expectations document that gets covered on the first day of school and sent home with the students. I also send an acknowledgement slip home that the parents sign.This is for the 9th grade Acting I course.

This is a very simple rubric to go with my Stage Makeup labs in the lessons that are in the Technical Theatre section of member share files.

This is a research project that where students get to choose the performer they study. Use/adapt as you see fit.
