Key points for productions of Theatrefolk plays.
We're happy that you're interested in our plays. Here are the key copyright points you need to know before putting one on stage.
What counts as a performance?
Any presentation viewed by anyone outside the classroom or production team counts as a performance, whether or not admission is charged.
Performance rights
Non-exclusive amateur stage performance rights are granted subject to the conditions outlined in our performance license
Rehearsal scripts
Productions must be rehearsed using either original published copies of the script or scripts reproduced under a Script Distribution License issued by Theatrefolk.
Changes to the text
Any alterations, additions, or deletions to the text must be approved in writing before the production.
Crediting the playwright
All productions must credit the author by name in a font size no smaller than 50% of the largest letter in the title, and include:
"Produced by special arrangement with Theatrefolk (www.theatrefolk.com)"
