Jim Maher Canadian Author

Jim Maher is a Nanaimo-based actor and playwright, and a graduate of Studio 58’s acting program. His work as a performer has earned him two Theatre BC Mainstage acting awards, and he has appeared in numerous community and regional theatre productions on Vancouver Island. As a playwright, Jim is drawn to funny, accessible stories with heart, especially pieces that give young performers strong characters and playful theatrical worlds to explore. His play Cookie Bureaucracy is published by Theatrefolk. When he isn’t writing or performing, Jim works in community employment services, supporting people with disabilities in finding and maintaining meaningful work.
