Circus Olympus

Circus Olympus

by Lindsay Price

The circus has come to town! Well… sort of. There's no elephant on a bicycle but there are the Greek Geeks and have they got a story or two to tell. More specifically, a myth or two: Pandora's Box, Persephone and the Underworld, King Midas, Athena and Arachne, and don't forget the Mythapalooza Slam Jam!

A gleeful celebration with excellent large cast expansion and parts for all abilities. Circus elements are optional and are suggested for each myth.

THREE different lengths are included: Two Acts, One Act, or a 20 minute Competition Piece.

Praise for Circus Olympus

Matthew Banaszynski
Heritage Middle School
This play was the perfect first show for a new program. The audience loved it and the kids had a blast playing with the myths. Extremely easy to do on a limited budget with minimal tech. There are so many ways you can personalize the characters to the students and is very flexible with with the casting. With how the myths are separated it made it easy to rehearse the scenes in any order we needed and then put it together with the transition scenes. I could not have been happier with the choice of the show.
Natasha Mcgregor
Gosforth Amateur Dramatic Society
There were plenty of opportunities to tailor the play to our cast. Flexible casting plus the inclusion of as many or as few circus elements as you like. The kids loved every minute!
Gregory Harris
Storm Grove Middle School
This play was so well written for this age group. The students had a blast shaping the characters and bringing them to life. "Circus Olympus" is wonderful for theater kids of all experience. For many of my students, this was their first time putting a play together and being onstage. I highly recommend this play for others to use.
